Newlywed Apartment or House?
Should newlyweds live in an apartment or a house?
This question comes up so much because it is hard to determine where couples should live when they first get married.
Here are some tips in knowing what to choose.
New couples want to start off in a brand new home in a nice suburb. The problem with this is the financial aspect of owning a home. If you are your spouse are bring in the money and you can pay with your mortgage with a quarter of your take home pay, then do it, but if not stay away and save up by renting.
An apartment is the way to go because you don’t have to mess with mortgages and taxes, just pay basic utilities. Enjoy your first and second year of marriage without stressing about taxes.
Save up some good money so you can put a nice downpayment on a home. Look for a nice foreclosure and have fun fixing it up together, that way you have fun projects to do and you help build the equity in the home.
Remember that you are building a home together so make sure you take time and find a home that you really love, but make sure that it will be easy to sell later.
