Why do Men watch so much TV?

If you are a woman and you are married now, you might have realized that your husband likes to watch a lot of tv. ThereĀ are some reasons for this and thereĀ are not a lot you can do about it without talking to him.

If this behavior makes you feel good then I don’t see why you should saying anything. But if you are looking for reasons as to why men watch so much tv, let me give you a run down. Men watch TV to get away from reality. Men are afraid to take care of their business these days, now i’m a man and i’m writing this to you women so you know i’m not being bias in any way. Its easier for a man to watch a favorite tv show rather than deal with his wife’s emotional needs.

TV is also a way to be a kid. Every man has a kid inside of him that is ready to come out and it usually does when they watch television. That is why grown men love to watch sports because since the time they were young they wanted to be the star athlete and score the winning touchdown. Instead now they play Madden football on their PS3 system which also lets them be a kid.

Ways to make him turn the tv off:

  1. Give him a time limit. Guys do not like for their wives to tell them no TV, instead they like to make deals, one hour of TV a day is a great rule to enforce.
  2. Make him cook and tell him that you will wash dishes if he cooks.
  3. Take a walk around the block and talk about the houses that you pass. This is the best time to share feeling that are close to your heart.
  4. Visit the local bookstore with him and ask him to pick out the best book in the store. Have him tell you why its his favorite. You’d be surprised how much you will learn about him.
  5. Do some home improvement. Guys like to build things so find a project around the house and go at it. Ironic I know but tune in to do it yourself network or home and garden to find projects that suit your needs.

These are practical steps to getting him to turn off the TV and pay a little attention to you. This is important for newlyweds because you guys are setting the pace for your future. A lot of couple training happens in the newlywed stages.
